The source data is messy: physical objects are irregular, hard to capture, and unforgiving when measurements drift.
The output had to be production usable, not merely technically interesting, which meant accuracy and repeatability mattered more than demo quality.
The product had to fit the economics and pace of custom cover shops rather than assume ideal enterprise conditions.
